“The EU faces major challenges. In addition to guaranteeing defence and security, fighting climate change, and maintaining competitiveness, it is important not to forget people’s everyday concerns. The high cost of living has placed a great burden on many consumers in recent years. It is vital that the new European Parliament and the new European Commission do not lose sight of consumer interests. After all, consumers account for half of GDP and are therefore a key economic factor.”
